Companion Mode: What is it?

WhatsApp’s Companion Mode is a feature which lets you link up to four mobile devices simultaneously. For instance, you would like to use one WhatsApp account on your secondary mobile phone, you can link your account on your both primary and secondary devices.

How to Use the Companion Mode?

Before diving through the process, keep in mind that you cannot use an iPhone as a secondary device, but that you are okay to go if you are using one as your primary smartphone. A device running Android can be used as both a primary and secondary device.

So, let us get back to the subject.

You will have to join WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business’s beta program first.

Note: Due to the large number of beta testers that volunteered from all over the world, there are only a limited number of seats available.

Install the most recent beta version on your primary and secondary/Companion devices as soon as you sign up to be a beta tester.

Now, open WhatsApp on your secondary device, after clicking “Agree and Continue” Click “More Option’ by clicking 3dot option on upper right-hand corner of your device. There will be an option called “Link Your Existing Device,” tap that and a QR-Code will appear to be scanned.

Pick your primary device where an account is already logged in. Open “More Option” by clicking 3dot option on the upper right-hand corner. Then, click on the link devices. There is an option called “Link a Device” click that. Your camera will be ready to scan QR-Code, head over to the secondary device and scan the code from your primary device’s camera.

Hooray, Your WhatsApp is successfully connected on both of your devices!

Note: Some features may still not be available on companion device.

Although the date and time for release has not been announced by WhatsApp, we got you covered with another option so far.

If you are not a beta Tester then, download the latest beta version of WhatsApp or WhatsApp Business according to your need. Then follow the procedure described above.
